🦔 Hedgehog Hotel – Creating a Safe Haven for Wildlife
Another step forward for biodiversity and wildlife conservation!
Director John Farey has been putting his practical gardening and woodworking skills to good use by constructing a hedgehog hotel using recycled materials.
The project demonstrates how everyday materials can be repurposed to create something beneficial for wildlife, reducing waste while providing a potential shelter for hedgehogs.
Finding a Home for the Hedgehog Hotel
A suitable location has now been identified for the hedgehog hotel, taking the project another step closer to providing a home for local wildlife.
Hedgehogs need safe, sheltered places where they can rest, nest and potentially hibernate. Providing suitable habitats is one way communities can help support these animals.
Environmental and Biodiversity Opportunities
This small project highlights the potential for developing further environmental and biodiversity activities, including:
Building wildlife shelters using recycled materials.
Encouraging wildlife-friendly gardening.
Creating opportunities for people to learn practical skills.
Raising awareness of local wildlife and habitat conservation.
Inspiring families and community groups to get involved.
By combining recycling, practical skills and environmental awareness, projects like this can encourage more people to take an interest in protecting wildlife.
Small actions today can help create a better environment for tomorrow. 🌱
